For the Banana Bread Brownies:

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup 1 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • 3 bananas mashed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

For the Frosting:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Prepare the Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs using an electric mixer until well combined. Add mashed bananas and vanilla extract, then mix until incorporated. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the batter, mixing until combined. Fold in chopped walnuts.

  • Make the Frosting: In a saucepan, melt butter until medium brown. Remove from heat and gradually add powdered sugar, stirring until combined after each addition. Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Frost and Serve: Pour the frosting over the cooled brownies, spreading it evenly. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting and serving. Enjoy!
