  • 1/2 cup apple cider not apple cider vinegar!
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper optional, for a kick
  • 2 pounds carrots cut into 2-inch lengths
